Dear Parishioner,
It has come to our attention that the development of a Funeral Home is being planned on the empty property located next to our church at 5 Mile and Haggerty. Right now, the development is still in the planning phase and has not been approved by the Plymouth Township Planning Commission. A hearing date has not been posted by the township. The Parish Council is extremely concerned about this development for a number of reasons, and our concerns have been expressed to the Plymouth Township Planning Commission. Our concerns are focused on increased traffic accidents and parking issues, an over saturation of funeral homes in this area, and what appears to be the potential for a crematorium to be added into a ‘future building’. We need your help and urge you to contact the Plymouth Township Planning Commission on this matter.
For your convenience, we have attached a letter which you can print, sign, and mail directly to the Planning Commission. Please feel free to modify this letter if you wish to further personalize your concerns, and having everyone in your household sign the letter would help.
You can also send an email to the Planning Commission at: Planning@plymouthtwp.org
You can also call the Planning Commission at: 734-453-3840
Thank you for your help and we will keep you posted as we find out more information on this troubling issue.
